The dog rose is a symbol of love and loyalty. The flower has been used since ancient times as a symbol of love and devotion.
Dogs are known to have strong feelings towards their owners, which makes them very loyal creatures. They will do anything for their owner, even if it means killing other animals or humans!

White Dog Rose Symbolism
It’s no secret that dogs like white things. White things usually mean good things, so it stands to reason that the petals of a dog rose would look pretty when they’re pink and white.
The color white represents purity, innocence, peace and happiness. This makes it a perfect dog rose for a bride to carry down the aisle on her wedding day.
The purity and innocence of a bride is well known, so what better way to show it than with a pretty white dog rose?
When you’re looking for white dog roses for your wedding, be careful that you don’t choose any that are dyed. Some florists will dye roses different colors to make them more marketable. This is why it’s best to grow your own or purchase them directly from a grower. If all else fails or you’re really in a pinch, make sure to ask before you buy.
Pink Dog Rose Meaning
Pinks, magentas and reds are usually considered feminine colors. Most of the time flowers that are pink mean “I love you” or “I think about you all the time”.
These types of dog roses are perfect for sending to that special someone. Just be sure that you don’t send them a lot of pink dog roses without explanation. They might think you’ve got some hidden agenda or that you’re secretly in love with them. This probably isn’t the case, but it’s still a possibility and one you might want to avoid.
If you really want to impress someone of the opposite gender, try sending them a pure, blood red dog rose. This is the kind of rose that most people think of when they hear the word “rose”.
It’s the kind that’s often given as a gift on Valentine’s day. If you can’t afford to buy a dozen every year, you can always grow your own. They’re pretty easy to take care of, so even if you’re not the greenest thumb in the world, you should be able to grow them with a little practice.
Purple Dog Rose Meaning
Purples are a combination of red and blue. They’re considered to be more feminine than blues, but not quite as feminine as pinks.
You can probably tell where I’m going with this. Yes, purple roses typically represent something that’s in between love and friendship. A lot of the time they’re used to express romantic interest in someone without actually saying it.
If you’re unsure of how someone feels about you or if you’re afraid of rejection, a purple dog rose is a great way to find out. Just don’t wait too long to send one!
You don’t want to give the wrong impression by sending one when it’s no longer appropriate.
Yellow Dog Rose Meaning
Yellow roses typically stand for friendship.
