The reasons why your okra flowers are falling off:
1) You have no time to care for them properly.
They need proper watering and fertilizing. Also they need good light, temperature and humidity level. If you don’t do anything with it, then it will die down soon or even worse – become diseased!
2) Your soil isn’t rich enough to grow well your plants.
Soil quality matters. You can improve it by adding organic matter such as compost, manure or leaf mold.
3) You didn’t give enough water to your plants.
Watering needs to be done regularly so that the roots get enough moisture and nutrients from the soil. Too much water will cause death of your plant because of lack of oxygen in the root zone (which causes fungus).
4) You haven’t given enough sunlight to your plants.
Too much sun will burn your plants and make them rot. You need to provide some shade.
5) You haven’t provided enough air circulation around your plants.
Air circulation helps to keep the temperature at optimal levels for healthy growth of your plants. Without it, the leaves may start turning yellow or even brownish due to lack of oxygen in the leaf area.
6) Your plants are infected by some disease.
You need to check it as soon as possible and dispose of the infected plant or diseased parts immediately.
7) You haven’t provided enough nutrients to your plants.
You can add compost tea, bone meal or organic fertilizer for this purpose.
Insect pests like aphids can be dangerous too!
8) Aphids can cause a lot of problems for your okra plants.
They suck the plant juices and this is why the leaves look deformed. Aphids can also carry certain viruses with them, which they can transfer to your plants.
9) You haven’t provided enough space for your plants to grow happily.
If you want to grow bigger fruits or vegetables, you need to provide enough space for them to grow. This means that you need to give enough growing room for each plant. If the roots are cramped, the plant will become deformed and the fruits won’t grow properly either.
Spraying some natural repellents can help you with this problem!
10) You haven’t controlled the population of the insects that are harming your vegetables. If their numbers get out of control, they can destroy your entire crop within a couple of days! To prevent this, you need to spray some natural repellents.
Conclusion:
In order to avoid all these problems, you need to supply your okra plant with enough nutrients, water and sunlight. You should also protect your plants from harmful insects and their offspring. By doing this, you will help your plants grow and thrive into strong, big fruits ready to be picked and eaten.
When growing the okra plant, try to provide it at least eight hours of sunlight every day.
