You can also use used items such as plastic bottles, milk crates, buckets, etc for growing swiss chard in containers. A good example would be a two-liter plastic bottle. Cut the bottom part off and plant it in a big bucket or container. You can also join two or more two-liter bottles together for growing plants such as swiss chard that require more room for root expansion.
