Growing Strawberry Runners: What To Do With Strawberry Runners
The first thing to do with strawberries is to remove them from their mother plant. You will need a knife or scissors to cut off the top part of the strawberry plants. Then you have to take out all the roots of your strawberry plants.
If you are growing them in soil, then you can just dig up the soil around where they were planted and pull out all the roots. Otherwise, you will have to use a shovel or something similar to dig up the soil around where the strawberry plants were planted.
Once you have removed all the roots, it’s time to root your new strawberry plants into water. There are two ways of doing this: one method involves planting them directly into water; another method involves putting them in a plastic bag and placing them in a bucket of water until they sprout roots.
Planting Into Water Method
If you want to put your new strawberry plants into water right away, then you will have to dig up the soil around where the strawberry plants were planted. You’ll have to dig out all the roots and plant them into a container of water. Once these roots grow, they’re going to get submerged in the water so don’t worry too much if some of them sink while others float.
The container of water can be anything from a plastic bag to a fish tank.
The next thing you need to do is make sure the water does not have any chlorine or fluoride. You can leave it sit out for at least 6 hours to let the chlorine evaporate or use activated carbon to filter out the fluoride and chlorine. If you have well water, then you can use that as well just make sure it doesn’t have any strong smell or taste.
Next, you need to get some containers to put the water in. You can use anything from a plastic bag to a fish tank. The size of the container should be at least 2.5 gallons but no more than 5 gallons.
If you do not have any containers that are this size, then you can do the process in two stages by using different containers. Once you have your container, it’s time to get your strawberry roots in the water.
Take your container of water and place the strawberry roots in it. The very tip of the roots may start to dry out but don’t worry, this is normal. Take your trimmed strawberry plant and trim off about an inch or two of the excess leaves.
Cut off any flowers or fruits that are growing. Then place this stem into the water as well. You want it to be fully submerged in water so add some rocks or something similar to weigh it down.
The next thing you have to do is change the water. You need to do this every single day without fail. Check the water every day to see if it smells like ammonia.
If it does, then you need to dump out the water and replace it with fresh water. This process continues until the plant has grown roots in the water. As soon as the plant has grown thorns or prickly leaves then it’s time to move on to the next step.
Planting In Soil In A Bag Method
If you want to plant the strawberry plants directly into soil, then you will have to dig up the soil around where the strawberry plants were planted. You’ll need to get all of the roots out of the ground. Once you have done this, you are ready to bag them.
Take two plastic bags and make a few holes in each bag with a pair of scissors. You want a few holes but not so many that the bag rips. Fill one of the bags with soil and then place the strawberry plant into it.
Fill in the bag with more soil and add water. Do not over water, just add enough water so that the soil is damp. After this, place both bags into a larger plastic bag or under a sheltered area.
You will need to check on these plants every day to see if they need water. Once the plants start growing you can transplant them into the soil.
Transplanting
You will need to wait until the plant has grown thorns or prickly leaves before you can move it. This is the sign that it’s ready to be transplanted into soil. Once this happens, go ahead and take out the plants from their bag.
Take a spade and dig a hole in soil that is well drained. Make sure that it is deep enough and Wide enough for the plant.
Carefully take out the strawberry plant and place it into the hole. Fill in the hole with soil and lightly water it. Keep adding more soil until the hole is filled.
Water the plants daily and keep an eye on it. You will need to keep adding more soil every now and then as the plant grows bigger.
Once the plant has fully grown, you can start harvesting your fruits!

Caring For Your Strawberry Plant
Strawberry plants, as with all plants of any kind, needs to be watered daily. Make sure that they are placed in a warm and sunny position; if necessary, you can also grow them indoors, but this will need some extra lighting, which can prove costly and troublesome to set up.
During the summer, your plants should produce berries within four to six weeks of planting out. In autumn and winter, they will rest, but as soon as the days begin to get longer in the new year, the plants should start producing fruit again. You can expect a good harvest within four months.
As with most other plants, you should harvest your strawberries when they are ripe and immediately after the frost has peaked in your area. If you can, pick your strawberries in the morning, as this is when they are most fresh, but don’t wait for afternoon, as mold and rot will probably have already begun to affect the fruits.
Strawberries are best eaten raw or used in recipes. They also make excellent jams and preserves, and can be used to flavor various desserts and beverages such as sorbets and iced creams.

Tips On Growing Blueberries
Blueberries are one of the most popular berries that can be grown at home or in a small backyard farm. They are not only easy and fun to grow, but they are also delicious and healthy fruits that can be eaten raw, cooked in recipes or as snacks.
Blueberries are not only easy to grow on your own, but they are also extremely healthy for you and make a great snack or addition to recipes!
While most people think that blueberries come from a store in a plastic container with water or syrup, the ones you plant and grow yourself will taste much better, as well as being much more healthy for you. They also do not have any added sugars or water like their store-bought cousins. Here’s how you can start your own crop of healthful, delicious blueberries.
The first thing you will need in order to grow your own crop of blueberries is some seeds or fresh berries. You can usually find these at your local nursery, garden center or even online. If you can’t get any fresh berries, you can always buy some blueberry seeds.
Note: While it is possible to grow blueberries from actual blueberry juice or soda, these methods are not recommended, as they don’t work as well and may even damage your plants.
Once you have your seeds or berries, you will need to gather some potting soil and small pots or containers in which to plant the seeds. You will need one container for each blueberry plant you wish to grow, as each plant must be planted individually.
Place a few inches of potting soil into each container. Note: Do not use garden soil when growing blueberries, as it is too heavy and will cause the plants to not grow or even die.
Place the seeds into the potting soil. Plant them about an inch deep. Keep in mind that if you are planting multiple seeds, only a few will actually grow into mature plants, so you may want to plant more than you need.
Once all the seeds are in the container, place the containers in a sunny area and water them daily. The soil should be damp but not soaked through, as this can cause the seeds to rot and kill them.
Note: For best results, place two containers for every plant you want to grow. This way if some of the plants die or are eaten by animals, you will still have plenty to harvest.
Within a few weeks, you will notice that the seeds have sprouted and the young plants are growing. Continue to water the containers daily.
After a month or so, the plants should be big enough to transplant into bigger pots or your garden. If you are going to plant them in your garden, wait until after their first summer and plant them in the autumn when they are beginning to turn red. Plant them around 18 inches apart.
When you are ready to transplant them, dig a hole in the ground and place the container inside it. Gently pull the plant out of the container and place it into the hole. Fill in the hole with soil and water the plant well.
Note: Keep an eye on the plants after they are planted, as animals may eat them if they are not well protected. If this happens, simply replant more of the seeds or buy more seeds and start over.
Once you have your mature plants, you can begin to harvest your crop. Blueberries can be harvested in the summer for the year or in the autumn if you live in a climate that has a cold winter. In either case, harvest them when they are deep blue and just starting to turn purple.
Pick the berries by hand, being careful not to damage the branches. Do not pick every berry on the branch, as this may damage the plant and prevent it from growing more berries next year.
Note: If you prefer, you can buy seeds for a blueberry bush. In this case, you will want to place the bush in its permanent location when you buy it, as these plants do not like to be moved once they are mature.
When you are ready to eat your blueberries, rinse them off and remove any that are damaged or moldy. Place them in a container with a lid and store them in the fridge, where they should keep for up to a week. You can also dry the berries by placing them in a single layer on a cookie sheet, placing the sheet in a cool oven set to no higher than 130 degrees and leaving the door slightly ajar.
Stir the berries every couple of hours and check them until they are dry and crunchy. Store them in an airtight container out of direct sunlight.
You can add your blueberries to yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, or any other kind of baked good. These berries contain a lot of dietary fiber and antioxidants, so they can help keep you healthy in addition to being delicious!
